    Dr. Josh Renkens

    Doctor of Chiropractic

    Dr. Josh Renkens holds graduate and doctorate degrees from Tennessee State University and Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Renkens specializes in chiropractic sports practice and soft tissue treatments, including Functional Release, Active Release Technique, and Fascial Manipulation.

    He also incorporates functional dry needling, IASTM, Functional Range Conditioning, cupping, and various taping techniques in his treatment processes.

    Dr. Jorge Rojas

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Dr Jorge Rojas was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating with a bachelor’s in business from Tennessee Technological University, Dr. Rojas obtained his doctorate of physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine.

    Dr. Rojas has primarily worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting for the past 10 years. Priding himself on evidence-based, cutting-edge methods of care, Dr. Rojas utilizes blood flow restriction, functional dry needling, IASTM, several manual techniques, and patient-appropriate exercise prescriptions. He is passionate about helping individuals return to active lifestyles and strives to deliver the highest of care to his clients.

    Dr. Sarah Whaley

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Dr. Sarah Whaley began her career path at the University of Alabama, where she earned her bachelor’s in kinesiology.  She then obtained her doctor of physical therapy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. 

    Growing up, Dr. Whaley spent the majority of her time formally dancing. The long hours at the dance studio landed her in physical therapy, which ultimately led her to the profession. She has since been continually drawn to work with the athletic population, working with all levels, including recreational, high school, collegiate, and professional.

    Dr. Erin O'Hara

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Dr. Erin O’Hara was born and raised in Wilton, Connecticut, and received her bachelor's degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She played field hockey for two years before sustaining an injury, which led her to work as a student athletic trainer. This is when her interest in sports medicine truly began.

    Dr. O’Hara later earned her doctorate of physical therapy from Emory University in 2012, during which time her interest in sports medicine rehabilitation continued to grow.

    Dr. Brian Price

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Dr. Brian Price was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. Growing up playing sports, Dr. Price knew he wanted to build a career working with athletes in some capacity. He received his undergraduate degree in athletic training from Ohio State University. It was there that he was able to spend time covering a variety of sports, including a year-long clinical internship with Ohio State Football Program.

    Following his experience at Ohio State, he attended the University of Dayton, earning his doctorate of physical therapy. Prior to joining Resilient, Dr. Price spent two years working as an athletic training apprentice for the Houston Texans.

    Dr. Anthony Aamodt

    Doctor of Chiropractic

    Dr. Anthony Aamodt has always had a passion for health and fitness, which eventually led him to earn his doctorate of chiropractic and master’s degree in sports science and rehabilitation from Logan University, where he graduated with honors. 

    Dr. Aamodt specializes in chiropractic sports rehabilitation, movement screening/analysis, soft tissue massage, and kettlebell/barbell/bodyweight training strategies. He has achieved certifications in many rehabilitation and therapeutic modalities, including SFMA, FMS, ART, DNS, and MPI, and has taken advanced coursework with the renowned back specialist Stuart McGill.

    Dr. Elisabeth Pauley

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Born and raised in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area, Dr. Elisabeth (Lissa) Pauley found her love for movement and healing at a young age. Lissa grew up training as a preprofessional ballerina through high school and continued to perform during college, ultimately competing in the International World Ballet Competition and Youth American Grand Prix. Dr. Pauley began her education journey at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she studied kinesiology.

    At the University of Tennessee, Dr. Pauley’s passion for improving human biomechanics took off, and from there she went on to earn her doctorate of physical therapy at Belmont University.

    Dr. Colton Shirley

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Dr. Colton Shirley was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Growing up a multisport athlete, he developed a passion for movement, performance, and recovery early on.

    He played collegiate football at Jacksonville State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science. He then went on to receive his doctorate of physical therapy from Tennessee State University.

  • Kayla Sowinski

    Kayla Sowinski

    Trainer

    Kayla Sowinski was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and raised outside of Sacramento, California. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California State University, Chico, in exercise physiology, with a concentration in biomechanics and strength & conditioning. 

    Being an athlete herself, Coach Sowinski was drawn to working with professional, collegiate, and high school athletes, and has done so since 2013.

    Gabe Teeple

    Trainer

    Gabe Teeple brings a high level of expertise to the Resilient training floor. His education, which includes a bachelor’s from Tennessee Technical University and a master’s from Virginia Tech, combined with 20 years of coaching experience and his intense desire to help others excel, makes him one of the top strength coaches in the region.

    Coach Teeple has coached various populations at various levels, ranging from the general population to professional athletes. He worked in the collegiate setting for 11 years, including stops at Virginia Tech, the University of Wyoming, and Vanderbilt University.

    Bobby West

    Trainer

    Bobby West brings a diverse skill set to our Resilient team. A Nashville native with over 14 years of experience, Coach West most recently served as the coaching director at The Balance Training in Belle Meade. While serving a diverse clientele from musicians to models and everything in between, his main focus is regular people over 45 who simply want to improve their health and well-being. 

    Before joining the private sector, Bobby spent several years training high-level athletes, including time with Vanderbilt Athletics, the U.S. Olympic Training Center, and the Colorado Rockies.

    Reneé Dooley

    Administrator

    Reneé Dooley was born and raised right here in Nashville. After graduating with a bachelors in 1984 from Middle Tennessee State University, she pursued a certificate in paralegal studies in 1986. Prior to joining the Resilient team in 2016, Ms. Dooley worked as a paralegal and administrative assistant.

    Reneé prides herself on her commitment to family and work ethic.
