Dr Josh Renkens:

Dr. Renkens specializes in chiropractic and soft tissue treatment.  He prides himself on having a variety of skills and tools he can utilize to treat various syndromes in all populations. He has worked with athletes from the NFL, NHL, MLB, PGA, and USTA. He also serves as a special consultant for Vanderbilt, Lipscomb, and Belmont universities in Nashville, TN, working with and treating athletes in various sports. He is the co-author of Reset Your Back and Baseball Movement Essentials as well as co-contributor to Strength & Mobility For Tennis.

Josh lives in Nashville with his two sons – Wells and Gage. When he has some free time, he enjoys training, hiking, reading, listening to music, and documentaries. Josh believes each of us has a champion within ourselves, and has made it his mission to empower people with the know-how for achieving efficient movement and better health.

Dr. Derek Leist is a co-owner of Resilient Health & Performance, LLC in Brentwood, TN. Dr. Leist earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic located in St. Louis in 2009.

Dr. Leist has spent the last several years studying conservative sports medicine and rehabilitation. He specializes in soft tissue and joint manipulation including Active Release Technique, Functional Release, Graston Technique, Functional Dry Needling, and Chiropractic manipulations. Dr. Leist also incorporates corrective exercise and various taping techniques into his treatment protocols.

Over the years Dr. Leist has worked with a wide range of athletes from the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, USTA, NCAA, Tri-Athletes, and Crossfit athletes. Currently, Dr. Leist serves as a special consultant to Vanderbilt University Track and Field, Vanderbilt University Cross Country, and Lipscomb University Baseball. While living in Houston, TX, Dr. Leist served as a consultant to the Houston Texans and the Houston Rockets.

Dr. Leist believes that no matter what level athlete you are, moving well is the key to unlocking your athletic success and well-being. Resilient Health and Performance’s goal is to equip clients with the necessary tools to press forward!

Dr. Jesse Riley is an associate Doctor of Resilient Health & Performance, LLC in Brentwood, TN. Dr. Riley earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic located in St. Louis in 2013.

Dr. Riley has spent the last several years immersing himself in not just conservative management of injuries but also pain management. He uses techniques like the SFMA to assess from a biomechanical standpoint and specializes in multiple treatments like Functional Dry Needling, soft tissue and joint manipulation coupled with corrective exercises to reinforce the treatment.

Dr. Riley has worked with a wide variety of people including a specialization with the athletic population, both professional and amateur.  He collaborates with many local trainers and gyms in the area including many Crossfit teams on a competitive level.  Before moving to Tennessee, Dr. Riley practiced in Los Angeles seeing many Olympic athletes along with consulting with many of the local sports teams.

Dr. Riley has lived in Nashville for a few years now where he frequents many of the new emerging restaurants and locales. In his spare time, he spends time with his girlfriend Hilary, trains at many different gyms ranging from kettlebells to metabolic conditioning, reading on the latest treatments and modern conservative pain management techniques/research, and keeping up with music and media if time permits.  He believes life is a sport and takes a strategic plan to get you meet or exceed your goals.

Mick Weber

Facility Director

After finishing his Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology, Mick started his career as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Olympic Sports at Oklahoma State University. During his 5 years at OSU, Mick worked with numerous championship teams and athletes including 5 Olympic Gold Medalists, numerous All Americans, a national championship wresting team and Heisman Trophy Winner Barry Sanders. Mick was also selected to oversee the USA Wrestling Teams Strength and Conditioning Program for the World Championships and Goodwill Games.

Following his stint at Oklahoma State, Mick was hired as the Head Strength Coach for Illinois State University working with 20 men and women’s sports programs, including top ranked Volleyball and Basketball Teams.

Mick moved to Nashville in 1991 to work with lifelong friend Garth Brooks as his road manager. With Garth's retirement in 1998, Mick made a decision to pursue his passion as a Sports Performance Coach in the Nashville area. He was hired as Sports Performance Director of Velocity Sports Cool Springs in 2006, working with hundreds of athletes including youth, high school, college and pros in the areas of agility, power and speed. At Velocity, Mick also focused on Club Volleyball Training and College Volleyball Summer Programs for local Universities.

Mick is certified by the Poliquin Institute and works with clients of all ages in the area of sports performance, injury reduction and nutrition. He currently works at Resilient Health and Performance in Brentwood, TN and on location for Club Volleyball Teams in the Nashville Area.

 

Will is a Nashville native currently working on his masters degree in exercise and nutrition science at Lipscomb University. He Graduated from David Lipscomb High School  in 2012 and was named the athlete of the year at DLHS. Playing football and wrestling at Lipscomb, Will developed a desire to stay in sports by becoming a coach. He currently works with the Lipscomb University Strength and Conditioning Department utilizing his skills to help the volleyball, softball and soccer teams achieve success. He also currently helps coach the football and wrestling teams at DLHS. 

 

 

 

Sean joined the Resilient team in June of 2016.  A native of Maryville, TN, he graduated from Lee University in December 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Science. Sean later completed the Masters program at Lipscomb University with a degree in  Exercise and Nutrition Science. During his time at Lipscomb, he served as the health and wellness graduate assistant for the Campus Recreation Department. Sean is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Sean designs all of our workouts of the day for the group classes. His expertise and energy provide a variety of movements and modalities to keep classes fun. He serves as a group and private instructor, as well as helping to coordinate our athletic development programs for local middle and high school athletes in the area.
